Women's Club

Women's Club of the New Rights Party of Georgia was established at the very founding of the party itself, on 15 July 2001. During several years the Women’s Club was chaired by Ms. Nona Gaprindashvili. Current Chaiman of the Woman’s Club is one of the leaders of the New Rights Party Manana Nachkebia. The club's membership comprises over 4000 women. The club has its representatives in almost all the regions of Georgia. Governing body of the Women’s Club is Council of Women’s Club. The organization was designed to take active part in the political, economic, social and cultural developments within the country and to take care of the physical and spiritual soundness of the generations to come.
The Women's Club is well known for its record of holding charity events in children's houses, schools, and houses for the elderly. It also helps women and teenagers in prison, the sick children, the disabled, the ontologically ill, families with many children, IDPs from Abkhazia, families whose relatives were killed in the Abkhazian war and other socially underprivileged individuals.
The Women's Club has carried out projects, which involved providing libraries of different regions of Georgia with books, free-of-charge medical examinations, various contents whose winners were awarded with special prizes, holding tournaments in chess and so on.
The Women's Club cooperates with many other non-governmental organizations. It participates in the conferences and workshops held by different international organizations.
On a regular basis, the Women's Club holds meetings with its regional coordinators and through them with the population in Tbilisi as well as in other regions of Georgia.
From January 2005 the Women’s Club has partially changed its working priorities and presented a new work plan. This time the organization is putting more efforts on women’s political education in order to enable them with the abilities for active participation in political processes.
