Experts have concluded that the recording of the conversation between Arveladze and Tsamalashvili is genuine

After having analyzed the recording of the phone conversation between Giorgi Arveladze and Eka Tsamalashvili, British experts have concluded that the conversation is genuine: “this is a transcript of an actual conversation, possibly with parts omitted, but not demonstrably with any insertions or addition; there is sufficient lexical linking throughout consistent with a single conversation and not a montage from different conversations.”

Imedi TV’s fake report of 13th March, which caused mass panic and shocked the population profoundly, was assessed as a psychological terror, exercised by the authorities against their people.  Representatives of the Georgian authorities and the President Saakashvili himself were flatly refusing their connection with preparing and airing this program. However the recording of the phone conversation between Giorgi Arveladze, Managing Director of Imedi TV and the station’s head of political programming Eka Tsamalashvili, which appeared a few days after the broadcast, strengthened suspicions among the society. Even more, George Arveladze is an inner cycle of the authorities.

Alliance for Georgia's Extraordinary Statement regarding “Imedi” TV’s imitated program

“Alliance for Georgia” condemns resolutely the so-called imitation, telecasted by “Imedi” TV on March 13th in the news program “Kronika”. This program caused heaviest stress among the population of Georgia and shocked people profoundly. Entire responsibility for preparing this program and for its consequences lies with Georgian authorities, who has exercised absolute monopolization of a whole television space and this way, terrorizes its population.

This maniacal imitation aimed at intimidating and deterring people.

Completely irresponsible action of the authorities caused mass panic and heavy mental stress among the population, already traumatized by 2008 August war.
